Education 5 – 25 years career pathway

The Learning team is responsible for the young people we support during the dedicated school hours within the Waking Day timetable. Using our unique facilities, our primary school-age students follow the national curriculum at the appropriate age and stage; our secondary school students follow vocationally relevant programmes of learning, and our young adults follow individual programmes of learning designed to help them develop the skills required to promote healthiness, happiness, independence and where possible to access the world of work.

The young people that attend Prior’s Court are between the ages of 5-25. The majority are residential and therefore access learning throughout their whole Waking Day.

The programmes are specifically designed with the overall goals of health, happiness, independence, and skills to enter the world of work. The key areas that we teach include; Daily Living Skills, Functional Academics, Vocational Skills, Communication, Healthiness, Keeping Me Safe and Positive Behaviour Support.

The importance of learning throughout the day is to learn in context at every opportunity and then generalise skills into different areas including the community and family home.

See how you could progress in your career at Prior’s Court when you join our team.
