We're thrilled to announce the re-opening of the School tuck shop, now serving as a dynamic learning hub within our Hospitality Learning Programme.

This exciting initiative is open to all of the young people at Prior's Court, from the eager faces in Lower School and Post-16 to the Young Adult Provision. With young people serving and purchasing products, the tuck shop provides a platform to:

  • Build money skills: Through buying and selling, young people gain hands-on experience with handling cash, making change, and understanding basic financial concepts.
  • Become communication champions: Serving customers fosters essential social and communication skills. Young people learn to interact confidently, take orders clearly, and provide friendly service.
  • Sharpening counting skills: Stock checks become engaging exercises, refining counting abilities in a practical setting.

But the deliciousness doesn't stop there! Over the next year, we have exciting plans to expand the programme further:

  • Stock management: Young people will have the chance to delve into the world of stock management. They'll learn how to select the right products, manage inventory levels, and place orders efficiently.
  • Building on a strong foundation: The tuck shop experience seamlessly complements the valuable skills learned in our Customer Services skill module in the Hospitality Learning Programme, providing a real-world application for their knowledge.

This is more than just a place to grab a snack; it's a chance for our young people to gain valuable life skills in a fun, hands-on environment. They'll develop confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for future success.
