Every young person at Prior's Court, regardless of age, is encouraged to go out on as many trips out into the community as possible. This helps them to learn skills such as how to act in public spaces, how to interact with new people, and how to cope in new environments.

One class in Prior's Court's lower school went out on a trip to Highcliffe Beach as a follow-up to a story they have been reading called 'Shark in the Park' in order to explore the natural habitat of sharks.

This trip was also part of a wider art project exploring how to make art from natural materials such as sand, stones, water, seaweed, and shells. As well as artwork, all of these materials also offer unique sensory experiences through texture and sound so the beach is an incredibly beneficial trip for the young people to go on.

All of the young people had an amazing time exploring and taking in the fresh air.
