Volunteers from our corporate partners Carney Sweeney enjoyed the great outdoors on a visit to our beautiful site, as they got their hands dirty to help spruce up one of our learning environments for the autistic young people we support.

A team of 11 volunteers were dispatched to our Countryside Learning Centre (our on-site farm learning area), equipped with a jet washer, lawnmowers, shovels, wheelbarrows and more to get to work.

See what else our corporate supporters have been upto

The team jetwashed the area, trimmed back overgrown grass, cleared out the pigpen, weeded and lifted weed matting in the therapy paddock as part of their visit. The latter was a particularly important task as the matting was preventing our young people from practising mowing in the area, as part of their Land-based vocational skills learning.

And the lawnmowers they used were part of the £10,000 worth of donated items from another of our corporate partners, Kärcher UK.

The group were also given a tour of our site to learn more about our work supporting autistic young people with complex needs.

The volunteers even found time to help with us some preparation work for the Step by Step: Autism United event Prior's Court is hosting with our fellow Dame Stephanie Shirley-founded charity Autism at Kingwood.

Thank you to this wonderful group of volunteers for your hard work on your visit.
