The best of Prior’s Court celebrated at staff awards event

The compassion, dedication and expertise of the Prior’s Court staffing teams has been celebrated at the inaugural staging of an awards evening.

The first ever The Spirit of Prior’s Court Awards on the evening of Thursday, 2 February, to celebrate the incredible achievements that our staff make happen for young people every day at Prior’s Court. 

Around 200 staff members enjoyed an evening of food, games and prize-giving at Newbury Racecourse in an awards night all about celebrating the hard work, dedication and achievements of the wonderful individuals and teams from across Prior’s Court, in their work with young people with complex autism. 

Overall, 13 awards were presented, on the night:

  • The Working Together Award, sponsored by Reward Matters Ltd – won by George Konstantinidis, Job Coach
  • Empowering Others Award, sponsored by Simplyhealth – won by Tomson Chauke, Autism Practitioner
  • Continuous Improvement Award, sponsored by McCarthy Stone – won by Nuhu Mpete, Autism Practitioner
  • Innovator Award​​​​​​​, sponsored by Blandy & Blandy Solicitors – won by Mark Bailey, Head of Service Management
  • Inspirational Leader of the Year, sponsored by Greenham Construction – won by Ben Calder, Home Manager
  • Annual Living the Values Award, sponsored by Edwards Lifesciences – won by Marta Uscinska, Senior Autism Practitioner
  • New Autism Practitioner of the Year, sponsored by Cielo Talent – won by Tracey Gibson, Senior Autism Practitioner Nights
  • Autism Practitioner of the Year, sponsored by K2 Associates UK – won by Lauren Searle, Autism Practitioner
  • Care and Kindness Award, sponsored by Newbury Building Society – won by Glenda Oakley, Autism Practitioner

  • The Dame Stephanie Shirley Award – won by Penny Taylor, Care Skills Manager

All winners apart from the Annual Living the Values Award and the Dame Stephanie Shirley Award were chosen after a nomination period in which Prior’s Court staff put forward their peers with some hugely impactful citations about how colleagues were making such a difference at Prior’s Court.

Sarah Butcher MBE, Director of Young People’s Wellbeing, said: “What a wonderful evening! Congratulations to all those who won awards, were runners-up, shortlisted or nominated.

“We know we have some incredible people working at Prior’s Court but this whole awards process has really hammered this home. There were so many nominations put forward and reading through each of them was truly inspiring.

“This event could not have happened without the support of the 17 organisations which donated sponsorship, prizes or their time, or without the organising committee so a huge thank you to them for creating what was a special night for everyone involved.”
