Henry had never been on a Prior's Court holiday before. Last week, that changed.

The Young Adult Provision resident joined Dove Cottage housemate Imprahim for four nights at Blackwood Forest near Winchester. For Imprahim, this was his third supported holiday with the Dove team. For Henry, it was his first.

Four nights in the woodland

Blackwood Forest sits just outside Winchester, and the pair stayed in accommodation set within the trees. The week took in a fair range of activities: a trip to Southsea for lunch at a seafront cafe, a Nando's in Basingstoke, drives around the local area, a barbecue, and time in the hot tub. Walks through the forest featured throughout, and quickly became a particular highlight for Henry.

There were quite a few rain showers over the four days, but that didn't stop the enjoyment.

Henry settles in

From the start, Henry took to the holiday well. Plenty of smiles, with the forest walks standing out as a clear favourite. He appeared at ease outdoors, happy to be out and about and exploring the surroundings.

The two appeared to genuinely enjoy each other's company over the four nights, which made for a good first experience for Henry with the Dove team.

The support team

Henry and Imprahim were supported throughout the trip by Dove Cottage staff members Robert, Thomas, Sarah and George, without whom this achievement would not have happened.
