A schoolboy is putting on his running shoes in aid of Prior's Court after his younger brother recently joined us on a residential placement.

Ethan Tury, who is 12 and from London, and a group of his cousins and friends will be taking part in the Lee Valley Velopark 5km event on Saturday, 29 October.

Ethan and his friends chose to support Prior’s Court as Ethan’s younger brother James, 10, recently started with us.

James, who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), is on a 52-week placement meaning he has moved away from the family home to attend Prior’s Court to receive highly-specialised support from autism specialists.

Ethan, pictured with James on a recent visit to see his brother at Prior's Court, said: “As you can imagine my younger brother moving away from home is extremely difficult for me but I really want to do something positive to help him and the school.”

The group has already raised more than £2,500.

Ethan and James’s mum Sonya said: “I am incredibly proud of what Ethan, his friends and cousins and are doing to help James’s new school. We wish them all the luck with the run and we will be there cheering them on.

“This is an incredibly brave thing that Ethan is doing and we know how much he loves and misses his brother”.
