A leap of faith awaits a daring fundraiser in a show of support for autistic young people with complex needs.

On Saturday, 6 July, Karen Beecroft will be completing a bungee jump in London in aid of our Fun and Recreation appeal which allows us to put on "above and beyond" events, experiences and trips for the autistic young people at Prior's Court.

Karen regularly works with Prior’s Court in her role at New College Swindon as Prior's Court offers her students work experience and placements.

She said:

As the T-Level Health Programme Lead and Assistant Curriculum Manager for Health & Social Care and Sport, Prior’s Court has offered and supported our students to achieve work placements and develop their skill for working within the health and social care sector, develop their understanding of different conditions, how they affect individuals and more importantly what can be achieved to help support individuals and families. Doing a little bungee jump is my small way of thanking Prior’s Court for this amazing work.

This isn’t Karen’s first daring challenge for charity.

Karen, who lives in Banbury, Oxfordshire, added: “I’m always up for an adrenaline-fuelled challenge for amazing charities. I’ve done a bungee jump, abseils, a skydive and a wing walk.

“I am so excited and can't wait. I’m really looking forward to see the amazing London views from a different point of view.”

Karen is aiming to raise £300.

Clemence Muller, our Entry Level Talent Coach who works directly with Karen, added: "I am so pleased Karen is taking on this challenge for Prior's Court. This is following insight days we have done for Health and Social Care students to give them an insight into what we do and autism. The New College Swindon students did two days with us and also created activities for our young people to do.

"By doing this challenge, Karen is reinforcing our partnership with New College Swindon as well as showing good values to her students. It has been brilliant to work with Karen on this project and I'm looking forward to working together on many more occasions."
