One of the most striking things at Prior’s Court is the space and the quality of the specialist facilities on the beautiful 50 acre campus.

Young adult in residential settingThere is a school education block with classrooms and learning bases around a quadrangle, ten school residential houses, a young adult learning centre and three residential cottages, a kitchen garden for horticulture, Countryside Learning Centre to learn animal husbandry, an all weather track for running and cycling, outdoor play area and music circle, a swimming pool, and other specialist facilities such as multi-sensory and therapy rooms. The beautiful grounds include a ten acre woodland with sculpture trail.

Prior’s Court will give you experience, skills and autism expertise that will be unrivalled in the sector, all in a beautiful, tranquil environment gifted to us by Dame Stephanie Shirley.

Our specialist environment and facilties are unique and a joy to work in helping staff to provide care in the best way possible by:

  • Creating a calm environment enabling young people to learn onsite before practising skills in the community.
  • Providing a rich variety of learning and leisure environments.
  • Autism Practitioners / Support Workers care for students not only in the classroom and residential homes but in the kitchen garden, small farmyard, outdoor gym, swimming pool, multi-sensory rooms, woods and grounds.
  • Our training centre is onsite and there are resource areas for computers and staff rooms.

Prior’s Court is based between the villages of Chieveley and Hermitage near junction 13 of the M4 and approximately 6 miles north of Newbury.
