I really love working at Prior's Court and supporting our young people with their daily activities.

One of the most striking things about Prior’s Court is the space. Our specialist facilities are located on a beautiful 50-acre campus in West Berkshire, between the villages of Chieveley and Hermitage.

outdoor play areaOur space provides a rich variety of learning and leisure environments which help our staff to provide care in the best way possible. We have a school education block with classrooms and learning based around a quadrangle, as well as a mix of purpose-built and converted school residential houses, a Young Adult Learning Centre and residential cottages.

The outdoor space is stunning and provides a rich array of outdoor activities for young people which plays a vital part in managing anxieties and supporting their overall wellbeing.

Foundation staff are situated in a beautiful Georgian manor house overlooking the grounds in which young people study, play, learn, explore and thrive.

Our Autism Practitioners are able to care for our young people in a variety of different locations where they can learn on-site before practising their skills in the community.

Within our grounds we have:

  • A kitchen garden for horticulture
  • The outdoor Music Circle at Priors CourtA Countryside Learning Centre to learn animal husbandry
  • An all-weather track for running and cycling
  • An outdoor play area and music circle
  • A swimming pool
  • Specialist facilities such as a multi-sensory suite and therapy rooms
  • A ten-acre woodland with a sculpture trail.

Our training centre is also on-site and there are resource areas for computers and staff rooms available.

I really love working at Prior’s Court and supporting the young adults with their daily activities. I enjoy the job so much I don’t feel I am at work. I’m a key worker for one of the young adults and support him as much as possible with all his daily living skills. These include going on his work placement, flying his kite around the track and attending Prior’s Court classes with help from the rest of the staff team at Robin Cottage.
