About Us News Robin Cottage CQC report Following on from the success of Dove Cottage and Bradbury House earlier this year, Prior’s Court Young Adult Provision celebrated another successful inspection from the CQC (Care Quality Commission), with Robin Cottage being awarded a “good” overall. The CQC inspector met staff and observed young adults, as well as taking into account results of interviews with parents, in order to assess whether Robin Cottage is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Inspectors noted that 'staff were calm and patient and this helped create a relaxed and purposeful atmosphere in the service.' In communication with the families of our young people, inspectors noted that parents and other relatives 'were very happy with the approach of staff and gave various examples to demonstrate they were caring. Relatives said that people were “…well looked after”, “…well cared for”, and staff created a “…joyful and positive atmosphere”.’ Inspectors also noted that ‘relatives were very happy with the teamwork, skills and training of the staff and praised the way communication was maintained with them’. Ruth Over, Head of Young Adult Care, commented: “We are really pleased that the CQC have again recognised the commitment we have to improving the outcomes for our young adults and I’m delighted that all three of the young adult homes – Dove, Robin and Bradbury – have been awarded “good” by the CQC. We are very proud of our young people and all the staff who helped our Young Adult Provision to achieve such a fantastic result, especially as all three homes were assessed under the new, much tougher CQC framework.” You can read the full report from CQC in our Young Adult section.
