There are just a handful of spaces remaining on a stimulating advanced course for SEN professionals being hosted at Prior’s Court later this month.

The three-day Beyond the Basics course provides the next step in the pathway to becoming a qualified TEACCH Practitioner, as part of the TEACCH Professional Certification Programme.

Led by trainers from the 'TEACCH Autism Program' at the University of North Carolina and experienced specialists from Prior's Court, the forthcoming course is suitable for SEN professionals who have already completed the five-day TEACCH training programme.

The course is being held from Tuesday, 15 October to Thursday, 17 October.

The price to attend the course is £795.

To register, go to www.priorscourt.org.uk/Event/beyond-the-basics-oct19.

The course is structured around brief lectures and video-stimulated problem-solving discussions. Topics will include consultation; informal assessment; data collection; teaching around communication, social and behaviour; programme choreography; and working with families.

Hannah Merritt, Learning and Development Training Co-ordinator at Prior’s Court, said; “We were the first centre in Europe able to offer this training when the course was launched here in 2016, and we have received hugely positive feedback from attendees in the three years since.

“Beyond the Basics is designed for practitioners eager to develop skills to consult, mentor and train other professionals in TEACCH philosophy and strategies. I would urge any SEN professional or practitioner interested in further developing their skills and knowledge base to sign up to attend.

“We look forward to welcoming attendees later this month.”
