Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 80 young people with autism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior's Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.

We offer a range of specialist services within a residential children’s home, school and adult provision to support children and young people severely challenged by their autism. 


The Management Accountant will support the financial controller and provide accurate and timely recording and reporting of the financial transactions to management accounts level of Prior’s Court Foundation and its two subsidiaries: Prior’s Court Trading Limited (our ‘Bread and Beyond’ Bakery and soon to be established horticulture activities) and Prior’s Court Services Ltd to ensure compliance with organisational financial controls.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the Financial Controller to ensuring accurate accounts are kept through the timely processing and reconciliation of all month end items within Sage 200 Extra to produce the monthly management accounts for the foundation and the subsidiaries, including income recognition, accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, VAT returns and fixed assets;
  • Sales Ledger – raising invoices across the companies and undertaking the credit control process
  • Bank Reconciliations – undertake weekly bank reconciliations across the foundation and both subsidiaries
  • Circulation of monthly management SAGE reports to budget holders and undertake variance analysis as required
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Supporting the Financial Controller in key Foundation processes and month end duties as required;
  • Ensuring financial controls and processes in place are complied with within the subsidiaries;
  • Supporting the Director of Finance, Financial Controller and budget holders in the annual budgeting and planning processes for Prior’s Court subsidiaries;
  • Adhoc analysis as required by the Director of Finance and Financial Controller.
