Pre 16 Accreditation The introduction of the ASDAN Award scheme in 2005 provided a system of formal recognition and accreditation for the students’ development and achievements. The scheme offers a framework of activities through which personal, social and independence skills can be developed with modules which can be used separately and accumulated to build a record of personal achievement. ASDAN Programmes and Qualifications: New Horizons (KS3) New Horizons is an activity-based accreditation developing skills in PSHE, Citizenship and Careers Education. It offers learners recognition for small steps of achievement. Transition Challenge (KS4) Transition Challenge is a module based accreditation, there are two pathways available: Sensory (small steps of learning and achievement) and Introduction and Progression (focuses on statutory Key stage 4 National Curriculum and developing skills required for adult living). Learners complete a series of activities from modules in their student book.
