We are looking for a passionate IT professional who is comfortable managing a busy IT department and who has a good head for business.

Salary: £36,000-£40,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, some out of hours work as required to minimise system downtime in business hours. You’ll also be part of the Major Incident team and be on call in case of an emergency.

Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 80 young people with autism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior's Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.

We offer a range of specialist services within a residential children’s home, school and adult provision to support children and young people severely challenged by their autism. 


Reporting to the Financial Director; the IT Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the IT department, Including:

  • Line management of the internal IT team; including mentoring, appraisals, performance reviews
  • Ultimate technical authority for IT at Prior’s Court. Maintaining system uptime, ensuring IT systems are up to date
  • Responsible for the management of some exciting upcoming projects; including Office 365, Win10, network upgrades, large scale mobile device deployment
  • Monitoring and maintaining IT licensing and support contracts
  • Working alongside our outsource IT service provider
  • Developing the IT strategy for the organisation
  • Maintaining policies and procedures for the IT department.

This is a hands-on role which would suit someone with several years’ experience at a senior technical level. Line management or team leadership experience is preferred.

This role is ultimately responsible for the many existing technologies at Prior’s Court, including: Microsoft, Active Directory, VMware (ESXi, vSphere, Horizon View), Dell Storage, Networking (Meraki, HP, Ubiquity), Dell laptops PCs and thin clients, Alcatel phone system.
