ABOUT PRIOR'S COURT

Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 80 young people with autism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior's Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.

We offer a range of specialist services within a residential children’s home, school and adult provision to support children and young people severely challenged by their autism. 

THE ROLE

The Finance Assistant will assist the wider finance team with the recording and reporting of all financial transactions of the Prior's Court charity, across all three of its companies: Prior’s Court Foundation (the school), Prior’s Court Trading Limited and Prior's Court Services Ltd.

Main responsibilities include:

Purchase Ledger
  • Checking and processing supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Maintaining accounts
  • Paying creditors according to agreed terms, sending remittance notes
Petty Cash
  • Processing statements of expenditure and replenishing petty cash floats for all 16 children’s homes each week
  • Assisting with weekly cash collection from the bank
Sales Ledger
  • Obtaining purchase orders, raising/processing of fee invoices and credit notes (where applicable) for the Foundation and Services companies
  • Reconciling and maintaining accounts and managing contacts including the LA portals
  • Processing of funds received
  • Supporting the Management Accountant in the process for chasing payment
Bank Accounts
  • Supporting the Financial Controller in the operation of all bank accounts to correctly record income and payments
Fixed Assets
  • Supporting the Management Accountant in the maintenance of the fixed assets register records
