I would definitely recommend Prior’s Court as a really fulfilling place to work.

We recognise that those working directly with our young people are vital to their progress and happiness and so from the start of your career at Prior's Court we aim to support you as much as we can.

I have been at Prior’s Court for 13 and a half years, initially as a Support Worker, then Senior Support Worker and now as a Deputy Home Manager. I had previously worked with adults with learning disabilities but wanted to work with young people to help promote their independence and improve their lives. I have had the privilege of seeing many of the young people here develop and grow in confidence and I would definitely recommend Prior’s Court as a really fulfilling place to work.

Deputy Home Manager

group in trainingAll staff will receive a comprehensive 5 day induction to introduce you to autism, our specialist approach, your team, our safeguarding policies, the environment you will be working in and more. We also have regular autism specific training courses throughout the year which you can attend for free as a staff member. Our autism specific training is world renowned best practice and taught in collaboration with TEACCH professionals from the University of South Carolina so you will have the opportunity to become an expert in supporting young people with severe autism.

The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is now a requirement for those working directly with young people. We provide lots of support to help our trainee autism practitioners / support workers complete this and you will be eligible for a significant increase in salary if you have the Diploma Level 3 or once you have successfully completed it with out support to become an autism practitioner.

It is incredible working with the young people. They all have so much potential and I love getting the best out of them. I joined Prior’s Court three years ago and once I had completed my Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, which was funded by Prior’s Court, I was able to apply for a senior position, which was great.
