Prior’s Court School aims to provide a broad and balanced range of learning experiences across the Waking Day Curriculum for pupils with autism. Autism is characterised by impairments in social interaction, communication and rigidity of thought. The additional needs of autism require a modified curriculum, which meets the individual needs of each pupil. The school aims to give pupils skills and knowledge that will enable them to lead as full and independent a life as possible. We have developed an innovative approach for the education and residential living requirements of our pupils, which you can read about here. This section outlines the adapted curriculum we provide, equivalent to the Primary and Secondary national curriculum key stages.
