Following an inspection in May, CQC have issued a report awarding Dove Cottage a ‘good’ rating, retaining its status from the previous inspection. Dove Cottage is one of three cottages within Prior's Court's Young Adult Provision, which aims to provide a transitional step towards a more inclusive life for up to 20 young adults with autism and learning difficulties, supporting them to develop independent living skills, communication, social skills, leisure and vocational opportunities and enabling them to lead a fulfilling and purposeful life.

The report praised the safeguarding policies and processes in place, noting that people were kept as safe as possible. Healthcare was deemed as very good, while individual care plans were also highlighted along with the knowledge and understanding of staff members.

An extract of the report read;

“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible. The policies and systems in the service supported this practice. People were treated with respect and their dignity was maximised in the way staff provided support.”

Care Manager Emma MacKay said; “It is a glowing report which I feel reads more like an outstanding report. It shows all the excellent work the staff team have done.”
