Throughout our 25th anniversary celebrations, we're catching up with members of Prior's Court's alumni, seeing how they are doing now and their families' memories of Prior's Court.

This post focuses on Matthew who was at Prior's Court from 2009 to 2014.

How is Matthew now?

"Matthew has his own bungalow in a rural area, and a mobility-converted Volkswagen van to get around in. He loves his walks, and loves his food, especially a good roast dinner.

"He still loves his telly, Thunderbirds, Disney, cookery programmes, and Mr. Bean."

What are your memories of Prior's Court as a family?

"Matthew was one of the first young adults to move into the new Cottages on site where he spent some happy years.

"Prior's Court will always have a place in our hearts.  I didn’t want to let go of Matthe, but it was the best thing we ever did for him. As a family, we were always welcomed at Prior's Court and included in many events. At some of these I did some public speaking about our family's journey with autism.

"The care and dedication Prior's Court staff gave Matthew exceeded our expectations, and it opened a door for Matthew, and he walked through it. He has complex needs and all his carers worked hard to help them along in his life. It was a sad day when he had to leave. However, he is now settled in Newport."
