On Thursday 11 October 2018, a Prior’s Court minibus was involved in a serious road traffic collision with a heavy goods vehicle on the M4. We are absolutely devastated that this caused three members of staff to lose their lives, while two others are in hospital. The three young adults travelling in the minibus received treatment for less serious injuries.

In the wake of this tragedy we are trying to come to terms with what happened, support those recovering and the families, friends and colleagues who are grieving. Our heartfelt condolences are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives.

We have been overwhelmed by messages of support from the public, the families of our young people, colleagues past and present and various organisations around the country. Many wished to support the loved ones of those directly affected through this difficult time, so we set up a Family Fund to enable this. We are no longer taking donations to the Family Fund but would like to thank all those who have supported the families. We will be announcing a further update on the amount raised in due course.

“This tragedy will affect many of us for a long time to come, but it is of great comfort to know that there are so many kind and generous people offering support. Thank you. Together we will help each other through this and do all we can to honour the memory of those we have lost.”
